This course includes management of health, safety and security in the salon, quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector and enhancing appearance using micropigmentation (brows, lower lids, lips and body)
We also offer a conversion course to upgrade from a CPD qualification. No teaching but signing off your written work and assessing observations at £1,295
Learner Entry Requirements: Learners must have previously completed Level 3 Beauty Therapy related qualification

Course aims: The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation is aimed at those learners who are experienced beauty therapists and looking to add a specialism in their portfolio of skills. The purpose of the Certificate aims to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare and provide safely micropigmentation treatment
Qualification Structure: In order to successfully achieve the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation, learners must complete all the units below, totalling 32 credits

This course covers:
Implement and manage health, safety and security practices in the salon
Review the overall client service experience as part of quality assurance and implement and monitor procedures to improve overall client experience
Enhance the appearance of using micropigmentation treatment
- Understand, prepare and provide micropigmentation treatments
- Understand how to provide aftercare advice
Course Structure: This qualification is internally assessed. Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
You will attend three days’ practical training followed by the completion of 6 case studies. Once the case studies have been signed off, you will then need to perform 4 observations. The 4 observations have to cover:
- Colouring
- Defining natural features
- Improving and shaping features
- At least 4 treatment areas (eyebrows with hair, eyebrows without hair, eyelids, lips, area of body)
- Pigments: Both organic and inorganic
- Needles: Flat, Magnum, Cluster, Single, Sloped
- Techniques: Strokes, shading and pointillism
- Treatment effect: Hair strokes, Powder brows, Lip liner, Lip shading, Eyeliner, Lash enhancement)
You will need access to a computer and Word (or equivalent).
